The history of Lazdynai
Lazdynai was built in 1974 and was planned and built as a demonstration project. The architects of the suburb: Vytautas Čekanauskas, Vytautas Brėdikis, Vytautas Kazimieras Balčiūnas, Gediminas Valiuškis, and the builders: Algimantas Kleinotas and Vincentas Šileika, were awarded the Lenin Award in 1974. In 1985, the last sixteen-storey monolithic apartment blocks were built.
What to see and do there
There is a Vilnius TV tower in Lazdynai, and at the top of it a restaurant that rotates. There is also an exhibition and congress center LITEXPO, which hosts various events and exhibitions.

Spatial composition of Lazdynai
The planned spatial composition of the district is based on a ring system of streets and combinations of large prefabricated houses, and the streets and buildings merge with the natural initial relief of the wooded area.
